To know that you are the “apple of your father’s eye” should instill an exuberant amount of confidence in one’s self. You will 
always have a place of refuge. You know that you are the love of your father. Think about it. You don’t have to compete with your siblings who are smarter, swagger, prettier, more handsome, more … (WHATEVER!). You walk with a sparkle in your eye and an extra pep in your step because you know that you are the center of your father’s focus and you are precious in his sight. That perhaps sounds like a status that is too “over the top” even for those of you who have actually “got it like that.” Yet, when you consider that I am talking about our Heavenly Father…We All Have It Like That! We all are “the apple of our Father’s eye,” (Zec. 2:8 NLT) and that’s an awesome place! That’s the “LOVE” of “The Father!”
I don’t think the highway to heaven is an overly crowded road to travel. We can get to our Heavenly Father unencumbered. Why then, are there still so many challenges that lie ahead? Why so many pot holes in the road? Why detours? Why crooks and narrow turns? Setbacks and disappointments! Not to mention that it seems He did not get your email, your text dropped and the phone line really is busy!! Maybe you should try Facebook, Twitter, and Snapshot (modern vernacular) you think? That let us know that life isn’t always “a bed of roses.” And we must not forget that we have the three Ss‘ to deal with. They are Satan, Sin and, Soul. Sometimes it seems that the only things we meet are thistles and thorns and all the messes this world throw at us: attacks from satan. committed sins, and traumas of the soul.
If you are on that journey, somehow you just have to know that the Father has made provisions for you. He is forever mindful of you (Psalm 8:4 NKJV). In fact He said that “He will never leave you nor forsake you”( Hbr. 13:5 NKJV). What a blessed assurance!! One song writer says: “He’s there all the Time.” Sometimes you wonder if that is true. So you are the apple of your “earthly father’s” affection and your life is great! There will still come a time when the only comfort that will satisfy your soul’s desire is that Love of your Heavenly Father.
For those of you who already know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, Seek To Know Him More. For others, this is a great time for you to invite Jesus to come into your heart. Then you can experience the Love of your Heavenly Father and the center of His focus.
