Arise; shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you (Isa. 60:1 NKJV). Isn’t it amazing that when the Son of man walked the earth as one of us, His radiance and glory was so powerful that just touching the hem of his garment brought about a total healing! Sometimes He would just simply speak the Word and healings manifested. It is also amazing that Jesus, as the Light of the world walked in a world where men could not comprehend Him.
The leaders of that day were so blindsided by their political agendas they could not hear or see spiritually. Their minds were so focused on a King that would come to overthrow the Roman government that they did not realize that the King of kings was right in their midst. They were brilliant when it came to knowledge prowess. They were given credit for their scholarly acumen. They knew all the rules and kept the laws succinctly to the letter causing them to become rigid and stiff necks, which caused them to walk in darkness and lose their privileges as sons of light.
The kingdom of heaven was at hand, the Kingdom of God was near. The Sun of righteousness rode into town with healing (sound of mind) in His wings and His beams and they did not know Him. That brand new donkey that had never been ridden upon (today’s Mercedes or Bentley) served as the perfect decoy. He healed the blind and the lame. He raised the dead as nothing more than a mere carpenter’s son (Joseph’s boy) in their eyes.
The caveat of it all could have amounted to a huge source of frustration, but were of little concern to Jesus because He knew that the last few years of His life were solely purposed driven. He knew what He came here to do and did not allow for any distractions. Even when other solutions seemed more logical He kept reminding His disciples that the scriptures could not be broken. Judas Iscariot became a thief and betrayed Him. The fulfilling of prophecy predicted this happening. Moreover, Jesus came as the everlasting light and His light is another part of our inheritance. Everything that the Father has given Jesus, He wants you and me to become partakers of it…including his glorious light that has benefits abundantly more than we can ever imagine. Then your light shall break forth like the morning. Your healings shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. (Isa. 58:8 NKJV).
Likewise, He tells us that His Light has come. While you have the Light, believe in the Light (have faith in it, hold to it, rely on it) that you may become sons of the light and be filled with Light. (John 12:36 AMP)
Are You a carrier of the light?
